About Albert Qian
My name is Albert Qian and I am a social media dude living, working and playing in the inner reaches of Silicon Valley, California. I have lived here since my birth in 1987 and have embraced a love for consumer technology, social media and new media marketing and has a passion for entrepreneurship and helping the world become a better place for everyone.
My love for social media became a blown out passion in May 2009 while working for Santa Clara University. I had been addicted to Facebook before, but only on the user end. This time however, there was a challenge, as the communications director was looking to break out the brand and bring awareness on the Facebook page and I, naturally curious, volunteered and began a yearlong self-taught mission on the ins and outs of social media and how exactly this new media will change the face of business. When I started on the Facebook page, there were about 4,000 individuals who were a part of the experience. By the time I left, that number had more than doubled and today the page enjoys a viewership of over 10,000 individuals.
